In the early visits of Swami Chinmayanandaji to USA, many were attracted towards his oratory, rational explantion to the modern youth etc; BUT one young man had posed a
question to the Swamiji " Sir, why is it there are so many different Gods in the Hindu pantheon, while other religions have only ONE God and swear by HIM " With ready wit at his command, Swamiji replied " Look here, my friend, it is advantageous and useful; you have only one God; when there are many people making demands, crying out for HIS help - say a soldier wounded in battle in Korea, a woman suffering labour pains in Paris, a person drowning from a capsized boat in Atlantic, another in NYork car accident etc,
where will your God go ?
! In our case, there will be orders "Rama, you go to Korea, Krishna, you go to Paris, Vishnu, proceed to the ocean, Muruga, land in New York etc"
All will be saved and satisfied equally eh !! "
